Evolution of an office

My one goal for the week is to have the office completely finished before Amy gets home. That means I need to get to IKEA today, and then cry like a baby tomorrow so my sister will come over and assemble some furniture. I also have to get three prints matted and framed, and I'm thinking of getting Amy an iPod dock for her desk — but only for listening to music when I'm not around. I love that girl, but when she cranks up the African Children's Choir when I'm trying to work, my brain explodes all over the place.

I love it! But, if you have your laptop propped up like that, how do you type?

---

That poor laptop was on its last leg, overheating every four minutes. I had to order a new one. The book was the only way to keep it cool.

Oh, wow, it looks great! Love that Eiffel Tower print. And are those Reese's cups on your desk in the first picture, or is that wishful thinking / a projection on my part?

---

Oh, you are so correct about the Reese's. I was a little skeptical of that Eiffel Tower print at first, because it is so huge, but I like it now a lot.

Why aren't the dogs in any of these pictures?

---

Amazingly enough, Scout didn't even exist to us when we started painting that office. There really was a time when I could use the loo or take a nap without a Beagle hovering over me, demanding attention. I hardly remember it now.

dude, I'll see if Manmaw can sit on my kid and I'll go to IKEA with you!

---

Awesome, yes!

This is making me want an office.

---

Will you help me assemble IKEA furniture? If so, I'll be there in one minute.

If you convert that pound note stuck to your wall to dollars, you'll immediately be independently wealthy.

---

There's a 5 Euro note underneath it. I could buy an island.

Your office is flippin' sweet. You might have missed your calling as an office interior decorator.
