Fan is a derivative of fanatic.
I prefer books to knick-knacks, it is my way. I didn't buy any lace or masks in Venice. I didn't buy any perfume in Paris. I didn't even buy a beer stein in Germany. For European souvenirs, I bought books.
German books.

French books.

British books.

Italian books.

Because, hello, they match my American books.

The world's not so big!

That's moderately ridiculous.

You should've popped in for afternoon tea...I'd have made cucumber sandwiches and lots of cake!
I didn't know you'd been away but I'm glad you're home safely xx

I love it. Books are better than knick knacks anyway, because can you read a knick knack? NO.

Great idea! And now you can use the books to learn all those languages.
So, is she "J.K." everywhere except Germany?

Hermione would be so proud.

OMG, those are wonderful! I'd totally do the same thing. Also: I'm meeting some more HP stars in a few weeks, only James won't be there (SOB!) so Nat Tena will be in his place. Memorial Day weekend is SO going to rock.

The "British versions" are also what was sold here in Canada.
I guess that makes sense, seeing as our spelling matches theirs, not the Yanks'.
