harry potter and the deathy hallows cover art

Jenn called this morning and left a voicemail that said, "Sister, I am dead serious: call me before you get to the Internet." I knew it could only mean one thing: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows cover art had been released.

US cover art:

UK children's cover art:

UK adult cover art:

Full covert art, including book summaries.

Arthur Levine was on the Today Show this morning to reveal the art. He said he "sobbed and sobbed" when he read the book. I love Arthur Levine. But he didn't even cry when reading Half-Blood Prince. Harry, Ron, Hermione, please don't die. Please. Live. For me. Please.

I've seen the new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows US cover art all over the Intarnest¹. The US cover is quite boring - the O in Potter has a little wing on it, so I think Harry's supposed to... [Read More]

"Honey, this is not the best morning to be so needy with mama, okay?"

The UK children's version certainly has a lot going on, none of which screams "Deathly" or "Hollows". It's more about Harry threatening kung fu if you get near his bling, while Hermione trys to avoid being stabbed by Ron.

Sir, I don't know who you are or where you come from, but I hope you never go away. Harry's bling. Heh. And maybe Ron finally confessed his feelings for Hermione, but she rebuffed him and told him she loved Krum. Now maybe he has to keeel her.

You kids and your Harry Potter. What is the world coming to?

I like the UK adult cover art best of all. It's cool looking. I'd read a book that looked like that. Well, not really, but I'd consider reading it.

It's like that old saying, "Always judge a book by its cover" or something like that.

Hello, Heather Anne.

I can hardly wait! But I can't read this book while I'm PMSing, not if people are bawling.

I think it is interesting that the UK chooses to go with two different covers, and not the american edition.

On the expanded U.S. cover, Voldemort looks seriously frightening. His hand...egh. And WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING AT??

Heath, when I saw on the internet news that the new cover had been revealed, I KNEW you'd have it up on your blog. It's nice to know your friends' passions.

Maybe Mr. Levine was sobbing and sobbing because he was saying goodbye in GENERAL, kind of like when I cried at Frodo sailing away into the west. Let's just think that, okay? sigh.

A guy who lives in England and reads my blog is working on the latest HP movie right now. It's kind of fun to read about the progress.

Seriously, nobody kills the main characters -- just the extras. Look at the big stories, I mean, Little Women, Gone With the Wind, Titanic... Oh. I see. Never mind. Sorry -- your beloved characters are going to die. I promise to help you through the tough times to follow, because that's what friends are for.

My HP books have the children's covers. Of course. There will be fighting in this house the day Mr. Postie delivers the final instalment....

The site looks great ! Thanks for all your help ( past, present and future !)
